The gold mining process from start to finish involves Exploration, Mine Design and Planning, Construction of
mine, Mining Activity, Processing and Extraction, Gold Bar Production, Reclamation and Closure.
1.Gold Exploration:
Geologists investigate sites to determine if gold is present. This may involve examining water, soil, and oil.
Survey and analyze the terrain of the mine, etc.
Initial drilling is done to log rocks and take samples to determine the size and grade of a potential deposit.
Extensive drilling follows to confidently define a resource, which is then assessed by engineers for economic
mining.
2.Gold Mining Design and Planning:
Mining companies create plans to determine the best fit for their needs, including 20-year and 10-year plans.
These plans estimate the profitability of future projects while considering safety, environmental impact,
commercial viability, and social responsibility.
3.Construction of Gold Mining Processing Plant:
Regulatory, financing, and technical issues are addressed before construction begins.

4.Gold Mining:
The ore is not below the surface, but exposed on the ground. After removing the waste ore, the ore to be
mined is directly blasted and then transported to the processing site by truck.

5.Gold Processing:
Crushing stage: Use a crusher to break large pieces of ore into small pieces for easy entry into the ball mill.
Grinding stage: Mainly use the collision between ore and medium to grind small particles of ore to a suitable
particle size level.
Water is added to create slurry. The slurry is processed in a cyclone to separate coarser materials for further
crushing.
Flotation and oxidation: Chemicals are added to help gold particles bond to sulfur in the rock. Air agitates the
slurry, floating the gold-bonded sulfur to the top. The mixture is thickened and fed into an autoclave to break
the bonds between the sulfur and gold through oxidation.
Leaching and adsorption: The oxidized slurry goes through a carbon leach circuit with sodium cyanide to
dissolve the gold. Activated carbon is used to catch the leached liquid gold. The gold is then washed out of the
carbon.
Gold room processing: The eluate is transported to the gold room and electroplated onto cathodes wrapped in
steel wool. It is melted in a furnace and the gold sinks to the bottom where it is separated from the waste slag.
6.Reclamation of Gold Mining Plant:
Mines develop closure plans before construction, as governments require operators to have a strategy and
funding for closure.
For the consideration of environmental protection and human health, hazardous materials need to be removed
after mining and mining, and the mine should be restored to the pre-mine state as far as possible.
