The belt conveyor is a kind of material transportation equipment commonly used in the current concentrator, in which the belt plays an important role as the load bearing and transport device. In the ore dressing process, the belt deviation is one of the common problems of belt conveyor, that is, in the operation, the center line of the belt deviates from the center line of the belt conveyor, so as to turn to one side.
In production, the problem of belt deviation will not only affect the normal production line of the concentrator, but also cause the intense friction between the belt and the frame, thus leading to the softening and burning of the belt, even the fire in serious cases.
Here are the main reasons for belt deviation of the belt conveyor and the corresponding solutions.
The installation quality has an obvious impact on the belt deviation. The belt deviation caused by the installation error is also more difficult to deal with. There are the following reasons: first, the belt joint is not straight and uneven, resulting in the uneven tension on both sides of the belt, and the belt goes to the side with large tension force. Second, the frame is skew, causing the belt deviation of the belt conveyor. Third, is the rubber plate pressure on the both sides of the feed channel are not uniform, resulting in the running resistance on both sides of the belt is not consistent.
Solutions:
1. Adjust the tensioning force on both sides of the rotating drum or bend pulley
If the belt joint is not straight and even, we can adjust the tensioning force on both sides of the rotating drum or bend pulley. If the situation cannot be improved after the adjustment, we need to reconnect the belt joint. Significantly, it is necessary to ensure that the joint is straight and flat when the belt joint is connected.
In order to ensure the troughability of the belt at the joint, it is recommended to nail the belt buckle sector-by-sector along the length direction of the trough roller.
2. Keep the center line of head, tail and middle frame at the same straight line
If the center line of the conveyor is skewed, we need to adjust the head and tail, ensuring that the center line of the head, tail and middle frame is on the same straight line. If the deviation of the middle part cannot be corrected, the frame shall be reinstalled.
3. Readjust the pressure of rubber plate on both sides
The problem of uneven pressure of rubber plate on both sides is relatively simple, we just need to adjust the pressure on both sides of the rubber plate.
In the normal operation, the belt of the belt conveyor is in the state of a closed cycle, the upper and lower two conveyor belts run at a uniform speed, and the center lines are parallel to each other, the offset of the belt is kept within the specified range. Here are the main reasons that cause the belt deviation in the running process, such as the roller or roller sticks the material, the belt relaxation, uneven mineral distribution, vibration in the operation.
Solutions:
1. Adjust the idler set
In the operation process, if the belt deviates to one side in the bearing section, it indicates that there is an error between the installation position of bearing idlers and the verticality of the centerline. Therefore, we can install the self-aligning idler set, or adjust the position of the idler set by the adjusting eye on the longitudinal beam. Which side of the belt is biased, which side of the idler set moves forward in the direction of the belt.
The adjustment of idlers shall be started from the running deviation point. The adjustment amount of each idler shall be less and the number idlers shall be more, so as to obtain better adjusting deviation effect. In addition, it is recommended to adjust only one side to avoid confusion.
2. Adjust the position of rotating drum and bend pulley
The belt conveyor generally has more than three rollers. The installation position of all the roller must be perpendicular to the length direction of the centerline. The too large deviation will inevitably occur deviation.
◆ If the belt deviation occurs in the head unloading roller, which sides of the belt deviates, which side of the roller moves forward along the running direction of belt (By adjust the adjustable bolt on both sides of the roller bearing);
◆ If the belt deviation occurs in the tail bend pulley, the roller on the loose side of belt shall be moved forward along the running direction of the empty returned belt (By the adjustable bolt);
◆ If the belt deviation occurs in the driving roller and the bend pulley in the storage bin, it can be handled by referring to the adjustment method of the unloading roller of the machine head.
3. Clean the surface of the roller or replace the roller again
The diameter of the belt will be different due to the processing error of the roller surface, or the wear and adhesion on the surface. The belt will deviate to the side with a larger diameter. At this time, the surface of the roller shall be cleaned or the roller shall be replaced.
4. Adjust the tension
The bend pulley at the tensioning place should ensure that its axis center line is horizontal and perpendicular to the length of the belt. When the hydraulic cylinder is used for tensioning, the bearing seat of the tensioning pulley shall be translated at the same time, ensuring that the axis of the drum is perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the belt.
In the operation of belt conveyor, the belt deviation doesn’t happen under no-load or less load if the belt tension is not enough, and the belt deviation happens if the load is slightly larger. At this point, the appropriate tensioning device must be selected to ensure that the belt has enough tension.
5. Rectify the blanking position at the transfer point
The material blanking position at the transfer point has a great influence on the belt deviation. Usually, the relative height of the two belt conveyors at the transfer point shall be considered. The lower the relative height, the greater the horizontal velocity component of the material, the greater the lateral impact on the lower belt, and the material is more difficult to center, so that the material on the belt deflect, resulting in the belt deviation of the belt conveyor. Therefore, it is suggested to add the stopper plate to block the material, change the blanking direction and position of the material.
